The only way I know how to be

I ain't never been the kind of man to say things,
Wordlessly,
Guess all these eyes o' mine can do is see,
Perhaps it's my fault, I've always been too lazy,
To teach them how to speak.


I've never had a good way with words either,
It takes the longest time, for these fingers to write,
Anything worth while reading,
Can't be blamed for being a quiet guy,


I never say anything,
Unless it's worth saying something,
And when I do, it comes out wrong,
Think that explains why I'm always on my own,
Maybe people get offended too easily,
Or maybe ev'ry time my tongue lets loose it crosses a line,
But this is the only way I know how to be.


My old lady asked me something the other night,
Can't remember wot it was,
Guess it wasn't too important 'coz I didn't reply,
She told me I didn't care 'bout anything she said,
And I told her not always, only at times,
She slapped me across the face and threw me out,
That's wot I get for saying wot's really on my mind,


But it ain't that I'm a bad guy,
I just can't seem to get along with lying,
I always say wot I feel whether I'm wrong or right,
Guess we'll find out, in time,
