Get busy mending

All the world's telling me,
What to do and who to be,
Maybe I don't wanna be anyone,
Where to go, here and there,
Maybe I don't wanna be anywhere,
Wanna drug me with stupid television,
Throw me a book, and tell me it's salvation,
Well I'm sorry I don't do superstition,
Throw me a bone and fix my situation.

Keep your glorified social status,
Don't you know that blows away like dust,
In politics and country we trust,
When it's in ourselves we must,
'Coz when a dollar sign comes their way,
They won't think twice to throw us under the bus.

All the world's telling me what I should feel,
Scared, down, frustrated that's their deal,
Maybe I just wanna feel something that's real,
Rich or poor, they say you've gotta fight,
And the burning flame of patriotism iside ignite,
Why aren't their sons the ones sent off far away to die,
Out of that omnipresent feeling in their hearts, fright.

Keep your badges and your honor,
And bring our soul brothers back to life,
Or at least go and tell their fathers and mothers,
They died over nothing, just a lie,
Put our shattered souls back together,
Make me whole, so I can be myself again,
Whoever that was, I can't remember,
You were busy breaking me, now get busy mending.

How foolish of me, I forgot,
To you I'm just a number on a paper sheet,
You've taken everything I've got,
My heart, my soul, my hands and feet.

Keep your glorified social status,
Don't you know that blows away like dust,
In politics and country we trust,
When it's in ourselves we must,
'Coz when a dollar sign comes their way,
They won't think twice to throw us under the bus.

Keep your badges and your honor,
And bring our soul brothers back to life,
Or at least go and tell their fathers and mothers,
They died over nothing, just a lie,
Put our shattered souls back together,
Make me whole, so I can be myself again,
Whoever that was, I can't remember,
You were busy breaking me, now get busy mending.ARealRock'N'Rolla

A life well lived

He walks alone on a rainy night,
Only his memories are walking by his side,
One stone per charished moment in his pocket,
And dusty letters in his leather jacket,
Remind him of how good the good times were,
Though he wonders, what was it all for.

He never had too many things,
But what he did have, he had a lot of,
A soul to live, fingers to play, and heart to sing,
Some may say that's just not enough,
Though to me, that's more than we could ever hope to posess,
A life lived this way doesn't need any more or any less,
Make every laughter count, every tear, every breath,
For before you know it, you will have left.

Now he sits by himself by the side of the road
Watching everyone walking as they go,
As they head somewhere to hang their hats and coats,
He's a wreckadge stuck in the middle of the sea,
Surrounded by speedboats,
But at least he's free.

He never had too many things,
But what he did have, he had a lot of,
A soul to live, fingers to play, and a heart to sing,
Some may say that's just not enough,
Though to me, that's more than we could ever hope to posess,
A life lived this way doesn't need any more or any less,
Make every laughter count, every tear, every breath,
For before you know it, you will have left.

Think about a life without you.

I was walking on my own,
When on a puddle of water on the road,
I saw your reflection.

I was delighted,
A fire in me was ignited,
Birds were going tweetly doo,
I had finally found you.

Now years have gone by,
You're still by my side,
I look at you,
And I can't do,
Nothing but sigh,
'Coz I can't wait,
For the day,
When I die.

'Coz then, I will be finally free of you,
Think about a life without you, that's all I do,
'Coz I was fine then,
Way back when,
You were just a stranger,
Now you've become a changer,
You've turned my life over and around,
You've gotten me upside down,
You've turned my smile into a frown,
I used to be up in the clouds,
Now I'm here stuck with you and without,
All the things I dream about.

Your skin to me is so coarse,
It's hard to think of anything worse,
Than your touch,
It's just too much.

Your voice when you sing,
Is deafening to me,
It makes my ears ring,
And my brain curl up and go crazy.

Now years have gone by,
You're still by my side,
I look at you,
And I cannott do,
Nothing but sigh,
'Coz I can't wait,
For the day,
When I die.

'Coz then, I will be finally free of you,
Think about a life without you, that's all I do,
'Coz I was fine then,
Way back when,
You were just a stranger,
Now you've become a changer,
You've turned my life over and around,
You've gotten me upside down,
You've turned my smile into a frown,
I used to be up in the clouds,
Now I'm here stuck with you and without,
All the things I dream about.
