The riverbanks

Along, the riverbanks,
I saw her face
For the very first time,
And while I remembered that moment,
The war bells called me and slowly chimed
For me.

Goodbye, my darling, I said to her,
Must be on my way, my company’s orders I just heard.
You stay here at home
And wait for my return
But if for some fatal reason I shall not come
Don’t waste your life mournin’ a clay cold corpse
Trust I’ll be resting safely in the Lord’s bosom
And know that I could be doing worst

Along, the riverbanks,
I saw her face
For the very first time,
And while I remembered that moment,
All around me my brothers in arms were dying.

My dear, I fear,
That this is the last letter I’ll write,
For tonight, the stars are shining,
Shining the brightest I’ve seen them in all my life,
I believe this is God’s way of sayin’
Prepare your last memory,
For soon, you’ll be joining me in heaven.

Along, the riverbanks,
I saw her face
For the very first time,
And while I remembered that moment,
A bullet pierced my heart
And tore it apart

With this last breath,
Before I’m taken by death,
I pray to you Lord,
Don’t take me with you
Leave me on the river banks,
And when it comes her time,
Deliver her to me
And there, we’ll lie, peacefully
Holding each other, lovingly
For the rest of eternity

Along, the riverbanks,
Where I saw her face
For the very first time.

put me out of my misery

It’s all about the thrill
Ain’t that right baby?
I’m kneeling here and at your will
Load your gun and aim it at me
Get ready, shoot to kill
And the empty casket will fall beside me
And I’ll be sent off on

The ultimate journey into the unknown,
Where all the things I’ve seen
All the things I was shown
All the places I’ve been
All the things I’ve done
Will fade away
A place where I’ll forget the way I was torn
Apart
Right from the start
Never stood a chance
To climb the wall that stands
Before me, so baby, put me out of my misery.

Is it any use?
To fight back and refuse
When you have to go left or right and you just don’t wanna choose
Does it make a difference?
When your life is all you’ve got left to lose
Your mere existence
I’ll kick the chair and feel the tightening of the noose
And I’ll be sent off on

Put me out of my misery
And I’ll be sent off on...
